Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my first session? The main goal of your first therapy session is for you and your provider to get to know each other, and to familiarize you with the therapy process. Good therapy doesn't happen without a solid foundation of trust and connection - and on day 1, we prioritize just that! Your provider will also review your intake paperwork with you, and go over our practice policies, confidentiality, and your rights as a client of the practice. You will also have a chance to ask any questions you have, so be sure to write them down!

What can I do to prepare for my first appointment? Download the free phone applications we use to communicate with clients: Spruce App - used for HIPAA secure texting and phone calls. Simple Practice Client Portal App - used for HIPAA secure client portal access, document sharing, online scheduling, access to the telehealth video platform, and more. If you're coming in-person, we suggest giving yourself plenty of time to arrive and find our office suite. We are located inside of Felters Mill, Suite 4, in Millbury, MA. You will wait in our cozy lobby, fully equipped with a bathroom, for your provider to get you! We also recommend writing down any questions you have for your provider and thinking about your goals for therapy! Some good questions to ask yourself are, how will I know if therapy is working for me - what will feel different or look different about how I am living my life? What are the 3 main things I hope to get out of therapy? Most importantly - try to relax. We are here to support you, not to make you feel more anxious or more shame than you already do. The best thing you can do to prepare for your appointment, is to prepare to be your full self.

How do I start the process of setting up a meeting? If you're reading this, you're half way there already! Navigate to the Contact Us page and fill out the form. We will reach out to you for your free 15-minute consultation to determine if we are a good fit to work together. If both parties decide to move forward, your provider will schedule your initial intake session with you and send you your intake paperwork. Everything is electronic, so no paperwork to keep track of or remember to bring with you!

Can I communicate with my therapist in between sessions? Communication with your provider is not guaranteed between sessions. However, you are welcome to send a message and your provider will get back to you at their earliest convenience. Please note, we cannot discuss clinical matters with you between sessions, but scheduling, rescheduling, canceling, or the occasional therapy-related reel that made you think of your last session are all welcome!

What are your fees for therapy? Ours private payment fees are: Initial Intake- $180.00 Individual Therapy (60 minutes)- $170.00 Individual Therapy (45 minutes)- $150.00

Do you offer in-person or telehealth/video sessions? We offer both in-person and telehealth video sessions. We are happy to be flexible for those time blind moments where you thought you had more time than you actually did to drive to the office for your appointment. Just shoot us a message letting us know you need to switch to Telehealth (or vice versa) and we'll meet you there!

How do you accept payment? We require all clients to have a credit card on file. HSA cards are accepted. However, you are required to have an additional credit card on file, as cancellation/no-show fees and other non-clinical fees (i.e., document preparation/review, collateral contact with other providers, etc.) are not HSA approved. Cash and checks are not accepted forms of payment at this time.

What is your cancellation policy? We require 24-hours notice of all cancellations. Cancellations made with less than 24-hours notice will be subject to our cancellation fee of $125.00. Leniency for emergencies are handled on a case by case basis. Frequent cancellations may result in a discussion about your treatment needs.

Is therapy right for me? If you're looking for a quick fix, a simple life hack, or for your therapist to fix everything for you, than no. Therapy is not right for you. BUT - if you're committed to really learning about yourself, to being vulnerable, to owning your part in some of the things going on in your life, and to making long lasting change, YES. Therapy is right for you and we can't wait to work with you!
