About Marryem

I am an LICSW with over 15 years of experience in the mental and behavioral health field, having worked in the field since 2010, with my direct clinical work beginning in 2015. My experience spans a range of settings, including inpatient units, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient care, allowing me to support adults with varying levels of acuity and diverse clinical needs.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and grounded in respect for each person’s lived experience. I believe you are the expert on yourself, and my role is to help you access your strengths, insight, and capacity for healing. I draw from evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, and EMDR, while also integrating attachment-informed, somatic, and culturally responsive perspectives. Having worked across multiple settings and systems, I bring an ability to view challenges from multiple perspectives—individual, relational, cultural, and systemic—and tailor treatment accordingly.

As a South Asian American Muslim therapist, I bring a culturally responsive and spiritually informed perspective to my work, and I integrate faith and spirituality into treatment when it aligns with a client’s values and goals. I am especially passionate about supporting adults ages 18 and older who are navigating identity, life transitions, and cultural or intergenerational challenges, with a focus on empowerment, self-respect, and sustainable growth.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I’m a mom of two who loves to read, learn, and stay busy exploring whatever life brings next. I believe curiosity, flexibility, and humor are important both in and outside the therapy room.
