About Amy
As a late diagnosed woman with ADHD and mom to a child with Autism and ADHD, my experience of motherhood hasn't been at all what I imagined it would be. There's an enormous feeling of grief and isolation that comes with that reality, and it's not an experience that many can relate to if they don't live it themselves. We're often blamed and judged by well meaning family, friends, and professionals who don't understand our lived experience. We're advised to have better boundaries, consistent routines, and more consequences. So we shut down. We isolate. Because we've already tried all of that one hundred times over. We suffer in silence- completely defeated, overwhelmed, and burned out.
I know that feeling of isolation all to well, and it sparked in me a desire to create a space for women like me to be seen, heard, and supported in a way that is actually helpful. A space where we can talk about our parenting experience without feeling judged, learn about their our own neurodivergence and how it impacts our day-to-day experiences, and learn strategies to conquer the chronic overwhelm we feel on a daily basis.
In doing this work, I began to notice common themes among the neurodivergent women I worked with. Many of them often struggled with anxiety on top of the ADHD, and had long histories of unhealthy relationship dynamics often stemming from a lifetime of feeling misunderstood and being convinced that they were inadequate, and incapable. Our work together helped them to understand the ways they show up in the world, empowered them to assert their needs, and helped them find the self-efficacy that had been missing for far too long.
My hope is that you find Mind. Body. PowHER., LLC to be a space rooted in the values of acceptance, compassion, education, and empowerment as you finally do something for you by taking this step to start therapy!
As the practice continues to grow, I hope to expand our service offerings to include groups, workshops, and other community events. At this time, my schedule is closed to new clients as I shift my focus towards expanding the practice, but I hope you'll take a moment to learn more about my small but mighty (and growing) clinical team.

Outside of therapy you'll find me embracing my crazy motherhood experience and browsing the isles of the local thrift and home decor stores!
Thank you for being here. It's an honor to support you.
